The Internet is arguably the most useful and empowering human achievement to date. It allows unprecedented access to information of almost any variety. Never has it been easier to research anything from political issues to tasty recipes. Consumers can research products and companies before purchasing, and shop around for the best mix of price, service, and usability.

However, the same medium that allows these benefits also exposes you and your computer to the outside world. Computer viruses and worms are more common than ever because the Internet makes it easier for these things to get onto your computer without your knowledge. For the same reasons, it’s no surprise that Adware and Spyware have appeared.

There are many issues of Internet security and privacy that we feel important to help our users understand. As with most useful aspects on the Internet, there are always people that are trying to deceive you and bend well intended tools to their will.   We will be constantly adding additional sources for you. However, since it is so easy for sources to not be completely accurate about such issues, or even just poorly worded, we will be using caution in posting these, possibly even removing or replacing them as we find additional sources that we believe to be more accurate and credible.
